Spam: Is junk mail that keeps poping up and is hard to get rid of. Get money faster, lose more weight, and find a job are all spam. They are useless and just fill your computer up with viruses.













WAN: Wide area network. WANs are not limited to a single location. may spam long distacjes via telephone lines, fiber optic cables, or satellite links.













Buffer: Contains data that is stored for a short amount of time. typially in the computers memory. Their are several ways to buffer.









Driver: A small file that helps the computer communications with a certain hardware device. COntains information that computer needs to recognize and control a device.












Linux: Unix-based operating system created by Linus Torvalds. He freely distributed his OS, which helped it gain popularity. Very custimizabele and you can actully add your own code to the operating system.










Queue: List of jobs that are waiting to be processed. When a job is sent to Queue it is added to the rest of the list. Computer programs often work the same way as queues.









Unix: the unix operating system was first created in Bell Labs way cak in 1960's. It became popular in the 1970's for high-level computing, but not on the consumer level.













Worm: A type of computer virus. Computer worms tunnel though your computers memory and hard drive. Type of virus that replicates itself, but does not alter any files on your machine. It is usually hard to detect.












Zip: A zip file is  Zipped or compressed file. Zipping a fikle invollves compressing one or more items into a smaller archive. Takes up less hard drive space and takes less time to transfer to another computer.













DOS: Disk Operating System. DOS wa the first OS used by IBM-compatable computers. It was origionally available in two versions, PC-DOS and MS-MOS. Uses command line, or text-based interference, that allows thw user to type commands.
