Tech Trailblazers #2

Tim Berners Lee
1. Tim is the co founder and was credited for the invention of the World Wide Web. He started the invention with a student by the name of Robert Cailliau who helped him all along the way.
2. The effect that Lee has had on the technology industry is huge he invented the World Wide Web which people use every single day.
3. The effect that he has had on me is that i go on the computer every single day and what i go to is the internet and to go to a website i have to type in www which stands for World Wide Web.














Anita Brown
1. Anita Brown is the founder of the organization Black Geeks Online. She wanted colored people to be part of the internet to so she started this non-profit organization to help colored people be involved.
2. The impact that Anita had on the technology induystry is huge because she incourageed black people to join the internet and get out there because Anita wanted to push technology.
3. The impact that Anita Brown has had on me is that i have made a lot of friends over the internet and some of them are of differnet races and colors so i have to owe it to her for me getting to know them.


Tech Trailblazers #3

Dan Bricklin
1. The reason that made Dan Bricklin so famous in the computer industry is that he was the co founder of the Vista-calc spread sheet program, which was the first spread sheet program for the personal computer.
2. Dan Bricklin had the effect on technology by creating a spread sheet program that would allow the personal computer to make a spread sheet on the computer, so when you made a mistaske you didnt have to erase as much if you did it on the black board.
3. By Dan Bricklin creating the computer spread sheet program it hasn't really effected me because ive never done anything with a computer spread sheet.













Masayoshi Son
1. He is the founder and is also the cheif executive officer of the companys SoftBank Capital and SoftBank Mobile. He is known as the richest man in Japan. He is the richest man in Japan but yet he has lost the most money than anyone else.
2. The impact that Masayoshi Son has had on the technology industry is that he was the one who got the idea of a Capital bank and the idea of mobile banking.
3. The impact he has had on me is that i got a new phone about two months ago and it has the mobile banking app so whenever i get checks i can just take a picture of the front and back of the check and it will go strait to my savings account.

Tech Trailblazers #4

Jack Kilby
1. He is so successful because he invented the hand-held calculator. Most students use that everyday in Mathematics calasses. He also invented the thermal printer in which it uses thermal heat to produce an image instead of ink, another invention of his is the Integrated circuit which is most commonly known as a microchip or a circuit.
2. The effect that Jack Kilby had on technology is that he invented things that people needed but never thought of.
3. The impact that Jack Kilby has had on me is that he invented the handheld calculator and i use that almost every single day during algebra because its faster, more efficient, and easy to use.













Gordon Moore
1. He is the co-founder of the large company Intel in which whenever we go on a laptop we are most likely using something by Intel.
2. Intel corporation is built into some of our computers to help make it better and more efficient.
3. Gordon Moore hasnt really had an effect on my life because I dont have a computer with Intel built into it.

Mark Zuckerburg

1. Bill Gates is what id say the god-father of computers he is the one who got it all started with creating Microsoft. Microsoft is something that we use each and every day when we go on the computer. Alot of the parts in the computer is made by Microsoft.

2. The effect that Bill Gates had on technology is  that he started the computer run and everyone followed in his foot steps. Microsoft was a genius idea that Bill Gates founded.

3.Bill Gates liked computers alot so he decided to create something that would make them faster better and more efficient. I like computers to im almost always on a computer when i am at home, its just how I live. I grew up with a family computer and now i use my laptop all the time.

1. The thing that makes Mark Zuckerburg so successfull is that he created something that other people would not even think of. He created Facebook which is an internet site that people can chat with friends and post things like their relationship status or what they might be doing.

2. Facebook has created sort of a new demention of technology because now almost everyone has a Facebook. Once people log onto a computer they usually go to Facebook. Facebook runs in Billions of dollars each year because of all the people that have a Facebook and because of people constantly checking it daily.

3. Some connections with me and Facebook is that i have one and almost every person has one i check mine probably once or twice a day which i dont think is as bad as some people. I really like Facebook because it allows us to conncet with friends and family that we may not be able to see everyday. Its all part of being social and making new friends. I have alot of friends that i made over Facebook that i may never see in my lifetime but they are some of my best friends.

Internet2: Internet 2 is the testing grounds and is where most research is based. Consortuium of universities businesses, and the goverment working to create a higher performance successor to the internet.











Kiosk: A booth that provides a computer based service. A small stand containing a computer that people use to retrieve pictures and such.











Vaporware: Vaporware issomething that has been released but it has missed its anouncing dae of when it comes out.









MAC adress: Media access control adress. built in and unique permanent number identifying a network device.










Dual Core: 2 cores on one processor. different instructions givin to the computer.













Vhost: Virtual host. place where you are going to host a website. Provides the domain name places to share your files, and the content managers. 











Motherboard: The mother board is the main circuit board thats inside the computer it is what really controls the computer and the whole computer runs through it.













Meebo: Instant messaging Program basiclly combines your accounts into one for simplicity and efficiently sake. Google talk, facebook, and twitter and others








OEM: Stands for Origional Equipment Manager, for a company that will produce hardware under the name
of the brand.














Open Source Software: Software that has its source code published so other people can add their contributions. tons of developed software.

Terms 12

Encryption: Act of converting information into a code or cipherso that people are unable to reade it. Secret key or code needed to decode information confidential data is often encrypted wireless networks.












QWERTY: Comes from the top left 6 keys. Goes back all the way to the typewriter also when you have a slider phone or smart phone you will see associated termology.














Flash: If you see a flash on the internet it usually means Adobe Flash player which plays video.











Tether: A cellular mobile device that you can use to go onto the internet while using 2g, 3g, or 4g network.











Fragmentation: a problem in which computer memory is used insufficiently.










Frame: Where pages are broken up into different areas each area consists of an independent web page.











HDD: A non valatile random access device for digital data.













Hibernate: A combination of low power and sleep mode saves current page on hard drive then when turned on it doesnt go through the long boot sequence.












Hit: Something found by searching someone else navigating to a web page and viewing it













Hotspot: Exact spot of a pointer that must touch an object in order for the link to be enabled. A place where the pointer can be placed to call up further information.

Terms 11

Android: Android is a type of system that some phone companies use in their smartphones. Most Android built phones come with many add-ons and applications for the user to use to make life simpler or more effective.It is a google based program that is for most all smart phones.












Ubuntu: Linux based operating system and is free to use and distribute. Comes with many different applications for email, web, and word processing. It has great support so many people use it and believe in it. Really his its peak over the ast couple of years.














Netbook: Basiclly a down sized laptop that is always a smaller size so it is more portable and convenient. It is smaller so it also has less features. Operating system, processor, storage, optical drive, keyboard, and more.












Web 2.0:  It is the new version of the World Wide Web and was introduced to the public in 2004. It allows the user to do many things that they werent able to before Web 2.0. It focuses on people being able to collaborate and share information online. Everythingon the web now a days is all interadctive where you can change things and post things like on Facebook.











SSl: SSL is used for securing Internet protocol and it also encrypts the data that is being switched. It blocks any outsiders from reading it and hacking into it. It is used for a sucure connection between you and your server in your computer.











Phishing: Phishing is something that scanners or people that try to hack your omputer try to do to get more data about you. Sending out an email saying that they are someone else or some other company.














Cookie: A cookie transmits information to different websites that you may want it to be on. It will send you information from other sites to. A mesasge sent to the internet explorer from a web server. These messages are stored and request updated messages from servers. It purpose identifies you and will locate your stored information.













CAD: Computer-Aided Design is used for making all sorts of things like videos and movies even commersials. It allows you to make movies or even just pictures with three demensional actions. It is a combination of hardware and software. Used to have specialized computers built for design. Now just attain software and away you go. their are many differnent types and kinds or CAD and all have different versions for the user.












Coaxial: Copper wire with insulation and a ground mesh. Still used a great deal for cable or antenna TV. Carries a solid amount of data without as much interference. If you have an antenna TV you are most likely using a Coaxial wire.











Debug: Find and remove errors in a program, It guides the programmer to fix their mistakes in a line of code. It is especially used in programming.
