1. Does Music sharing harm CD sales? In my own opinion i would have to say yes, artists get profit when people go out to stores like Walmart or Target or any other place that sells CD's. When people illegally download the artists music they are not getting money for it. When artists dont get money for all the hard work they put into making that song, all the thousands of dollars spent at recording studios, if they dont get money my best bet would be that they would be pissed i know i would be. Websites like Frostwire and Limewire i think should be shut down because they dont give the artist any pay for their music and when you use them they screw up your computer. I have used both of these sites and they both have screwed up my computer, when you press download it downloads that song but it also gives you viruses. CD's arent the most high tech things out there but people still buy them. Any artist can get a platinum or even golden CD for selling a great number of discs. People who dont go out and buy their own CD's are technically stealing from the artist.
2. It is not ethical for people to copyright songs and movies but people will still do it no matter what, people will do almost anything to save a buck. No matter how hard people try they will never stop pirating videos and movies, illegal websites have videos that you can download but they may either be of not great quality or just illegal which you can get a huge fine for. When people get a new CD that everybody is talking about they are probably going to copy it and give it to friends to make a couple bucks. Movies and music should be impossible to copy and make your own because if it were impossible we would not have to go through all this trouble. CD's are there for our enjoyment not for copyrighting, even if it means to sell them and make a couple bucks you still shouldn't copy other peoples work.
3. Smart card are like the newer version of credit cards they are slowly knocking cash down on the money chart because the smart cards are faster and easier to use. These cards are already common in other places so dont you think we should at least try them out in the US. I am surprised that we have not followed in Europe's footsteps and use the smart card instead of paper and coin money. Coin money is almost useless in todays society, if people find a quarter on the ground they are not going to think much of it because its just a quarter and you cant get much with a quarter. I heard somewhere that the government may get rid of the penny due to its useless value, that would be something im unsure of. If you get rid of the penny you are getting rid of history, look at the penny, on one side it shows one of our presidents Abraham Lincoln and on the other it shows his memorial which is a huge hot spot for tourism because it is in Washington D.C. The world should become a cashless society because if every single American would get rid of all their change and we would all add it up there would be billions of dollars which would help our country pay it debts and move on. If every person would get a Smart card our taxes would probably go down, this is all in theory, because people would be using their money from one source. I would be comfortable using a smart card because its just an easier way to use money and money is what we all need. One bad thing about these smart card would be that they may get their memory swiped by a magnet.
